Bacterial infections
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009An antibiotic is a medicine developed to kill or decline the growth of bacteria and fungi. They are mainly used to fight against the bacterial infections and they cannot fight against infections caused by viruses. Microbes are the living agents that reproduce, thrive and effectively increase their numbers. Antimicrobial drug resistance is the tendency of microbes to grow under the presence of chemicals which kills or limits its growth. The first antibiotic was introduced by Fleming called ‘Penicillin’. Even though antimicrobial stops the ability of microbes to spread, genetic change can happen that makes the microbes to survive which makes some of the infectious diseases difficult to treat.
